IT Hiring in Ireland in 2026

March is here and Q1 is closing out, which means if you are planning yourĀ  Senior IT Hiring in Ireland in 2026, the clock is already ticking.

The roles that closed in January and February did not start in 2026, most began back in October and November 2025 with role clarity and a job specification document scripted for the vacancy.

The search kicked off after that, and the offer to the candidate was signed weeks later.

Here is what the last 9 weeks looked like here in Star Recruitment

Every one of these open roles followed the same path, starting months before the offer was ever signed.

šŸ”µ Digital Transformation Manager, Dublin
šŸ”µ IT Project Manager(s), Dublin, Cork, Waterford, Limerick

šŸ”µ IT Security Manager(s), Dublin & Galway
šŸ”µ IT Infrastructure Manager, Cork

The roles being worked on now tend to close in March and April, with start dates landing in May and June, depending on notice periods.

At the beginning of every year, candidates take stock.

A new year has a way of making all of us think about where we are and where we want to be, and career progression is always part of that reflection.

That means CVs are being refreshed, LinkedIn profiles are being updated, and the talent market is more active than it appears on the surface.

So if you are an HR or Talent leader building out an IT team for Q2 and beyond, now is the window to get ahead of it.

Even if a hire is a few months away, a short conversation now can save a lot of time later. Send me a message or email imelda@starrecruitment.ie and we will take it from there.
